Don't Blame the Dogs

I love dogs, but sometimes wish their owners would go to obediance school. I have had dogs run after me, bark and growl at me, jump up on me, nearly knock me over, and any combination of the above, on trails. These behaviors are sketchy, but it's not really the fault of the dogs. Dogs should be well-trained, and then kept on leash unless otherwise permitted. I can see the legitimacy of a perfectly trained dog walking without a leash under voice command with its owner, who leashes the dog just before crossing paths with another trail user. Sometimes I meet up with dogs they are ill-behaved and their owners unapologetic, which is a shame.

Here are some preserves and/or trails to avoid if you'd rather not tangle with the dogs:
